Three Problem and Purpose Statements
1)
Problem: Wine and liquor stores don’t have throughout descriptions of wine varieties and food pairings.
Purpose: Develop a informational and instructional guide to inform the customer of wine varieties and their make up that differentiates them, give suggestions of food pairings.
2) Problem: Learning disabilities can go unnoticed leading to difficulty in academic performance as well as problems with cognitive skills.
Purpose: Bring awareness to learning disabilities by creating a standardize test (Individualized Education Program) resulting in the discovery of different learning styles that students have.
3) Problem: People don’t compost because they are ill informed on what is compostable and what is not.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop an informational and instructional guide how to successfully compost, therefore creating less waste.

Stefania's Bio
Hello,
My name is Stefania Mercante. I'm an Italian born Californian. From a young age I've been very interested in graphic design and hope to be doing it for the rest of time!
I'm a Visual Communication and a Italian language major. I just spent the year studying at an art school in Milan, Italy. It was an astounding year to say the least.
Im creatively inspired by many different factors. Mostly visual but something as simple as hearing a great song or meeting a really kind person motivates and empowers me. On a daily bases I am visually inspired by the scenery of San Francisco. The architecture, fashionable people or actual fine art. Whether it be a mural or in a museum. Photography has always been one of my favorite hobbies/art forms, I take a least a photograph a day of something I find interesting. I'm influenced by my everyday world. My environment, geographically and the people in it. Travelling definitely makes me reevaluate and look at things from a different perspective. My hope in the future I will be working in the field of editorial graphic design. Above all I want to work in a studio, I really like working in groups and collaborating with other designers. Here are 6 key words that describe me:
Innovative
Clever
Compassionate
Humorous
Flexible
Amicable
